BIRD WATCHING

We recommend you wear long or short pants, T-shirt and sandals, a hat or a cap and do not forget your binoculars (please give us a call if you don’t have your own binoculars)

Included: transfer from and back to hotel, mineral water, coffee/tea stop, experienced guide, insurance, bird list with Langkawi birds

During the trip we will try to spot mountain birds (Gunung Raya), forest and lowland/paddyfield birds.

The Tour:
During this 4-5 hour trip it may be possible to spot about 30-40 species of the more than 230 species of birds of Langkawi in the jungle, rice fields or near rivers. The guide will take you first up to the Gunung Raya to try to spot the mountain birds (possibly the Great Hornbill) and the guide knows exactly where to bring you later to see to get the species. A lot of migratory birds will visit Langkawi from November till April, but even without the migratory birds Langkawi is great for birders

JUNGLE TREKKING

Morning trek is 3 hours only jungle; late afternoon trek is 2 hours jungle and 1-1.5 hours evening walk, focused on spotting the flying lemurs (100% chance) and flying squirrels - red giant and/or pygmy (80% chance)

Pick-up time: between 8.30am and 9am or between 9.30am and 10am and afternoon between 4.30pm and 5pm

Duration trip: 3-3.5 hours without transportation time

We recommend you wear closed shoes with some profile under it, long pants and T-shirt and to bring a small backpack to carry your water and camera

Included: transfer from and back to hotel, mineral water (2 small bottles each), experienced guide, insurance

Trip will be done in the beautiful and extensive jungle behind the Berjaya Resort (no leeches!)

The Tour
If you choose for the jungle trekking / evening walk combination (start late afternoon) you will spend the first two hours in the jungle and the last part of the trip you will experience the shift change from day to nocturnal animals with a great chance to spot flying lemurs and flying squirrels and maybe even a civet or one of the more than 40 snake species.

The jungle is an unforgettable experience for everybody that likes to escape the busy normal life and that wants to experience more about Langkawi's beautiful natural biodiversity.
